New Pots and plants

These are not new plants, but they are new flowers! What can I say, it is Rose season, and they are just simply gorgeous! No wonder these flowers have been people's favorite for ages, every year and every new flower gives me a new found appreciation for nature and beauty. :o) Well, getting too deep in thought here. A cup of hot tea, and I can stare at these beauties for hours, just that I don't have hours to spare. hahaha....

OK, yesterday while Jeremy's taking his late nap, I have decided to go out in the midday sun. "'only mad dog and English man would go out in the mid day sun..." I only remember the phase, but our neighbor Jim can sing the song too. hehehhehe....So, I stopped by the nursery, and well, they have pots on sale. so, no surprise there, I have splurged again, and bought not 1, not 2, but 3 big pots! And two new plants. The black Dahlia, how classic! and potted it with the big European yellow dahlia in the cobalt blue pot, wow, I was admiring my own idea for a long time. It is very eye catching indeed! Then, I bought a new plant, pineapple guava, a native plant from Latin America, also called a Jeijoa?! And the flower and fruits are edible. But the foliage themselves are very nice, deep blueish green with silver underside. Put it in a beige with blue squiggles pot. Then, saw this red pot, and you know how I can not resist Red! So, bought it and repoted my white Persian daisy in it. Now, all together, Uhhhhh.....Arhhhhhh.....

Giant Dahlias

I didn't know this Dahlia thing can have such large blooms..more than 10" diameter, still amazes me. No wonder my garden buddy, Jennifer, has been waiting for them all year long. Well, I have to admit it is well worth the wait. As you can see, I can't resist buying one myself when I saw them. :o)
